Gujarat, known as the “Jewel of Western India,” gets its name from “Gurjaradesa,” which means “land of the Gurjars.” This name highlights the rich history of the Gurjar tribe that ruled the area in the 8th and 9th centuries.

You will enjoy traditional dances like Garba and Dandiya Raas during Navratri, and admire beautiful handicrafts like Patola silk sarees and Bandhani fabrics.

Gujarat is filled with amazing historical sites. Rani ki Vav is a stepwell with beautiful carvings, and Champaner-Pavagadh Archaeological Park has old forts and temples that show the area’s rich history. You’ll also be impressed by the stunning Sun Temple at Modhera.

You can explore the UNESCO World Heritage site, Champaner-Pavagadh Archaeological Park, and then visit Sayaji Gardens. Enjoy the beautiful park, see animals at the zoo, watch shows at the planetarium, and check out the museum.

You’ll love Gujarati cuisine with its delicious dishes like dhokla, thepla, and khandvi, making each meal a special treat.

You’ll start your journey from Ahmedabad Airport or Railway Station, where you’ll be transferred to your pre-booked hotel in Dwarka.

Begin your day with a visit to Sabarmati Ashram, where you can feel the legacy of Mahatma Gandhi. Then, relax by the peaceful Kankaria Lake, enjoying its serene surroundings.

Make your trip even better with optional visits to the Sidi Saiyyed Mosque, known for its beautiful stone carvings, and the Hathisingh Temple, famous for its impressive Jain design.

Travel on to Dwarka, stopping in Jamnagar to enjoy the peaceful Lakhota Lake and visit the Bala Hanuman Temple, famous for its Guinness World Record for nonstop chanting.

You can visit the impressive Dwarkadhish Temple, dedicated to Lord Krishna, and feel the deep spirituality of the place while seeing a real sense of Krishna’s presence.

Then enjoy a scenic boat ride to Bet Dwarka, where the vibrant waters make you feel connected to the history of Lord Krishna.

You can explore the historic Somnath Temple, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, and enjoy the beautiful evening Aarti.

The next day, check out and take a scenic 5-6 hour drive to Somnath via Porbandar. In Porbandar, visit Kirti Mandir, Gandhi Ji’s birthplace, and feel the special connection at Sudama Temple, which celebrates Krishna’s friendship with Sudama.

You can relax at Nagoa Beach with its lovely curved shore and calm waters,visit the INS Khukri Memorial to learn about the naval ship and its crewand soak in the stunning sunset views at Sunset Point, where the sky lights up in beautiful colours as the sun dips below the horizon.

And, start early with an exciting jungle safari in Gir National Park to see Asiatic lions and other wildlife.

Before returning to Ahmedabad, explore the serene Adalaj Stepwell, known for its beautiful carvings. If you have time, visit the grand Akshardham Temple, famous for its impressive sculptures and spiritual vibe. You can also check out the Modhera Sun Temple, known for its stunning design and connection to the sun.

You’ll leave with wonderful memories of Gujarat’s rich culture and natural beauty.

Itinerary

Day 1Arrival in Ahmedabad — Welcome to The Manchester of India

On Arrival at Ahmedabad, meet our representative at a pickup point at Ahmedabad Airport / Railway Station, and get transferred to your pre-booked hotel in Ahmedabad.
On arrival at the hotel, complete all the check in formalities, get your room keys and settle down and relax in your respective rooms for a while.
Start your exploration with a visit to Sabarmati Ashram, Mahatma Gandhi’s former residence. Explore the museum showcasing his life and principles of non-violence.
Continue to visit the Hathisingh temple followed by the Kankaria lake where you can enjoy the adjoining scenic beauty while boating.
Optionally, visit Sidi Saiyyed Mosque, known for its intricately carved stone lattice windows (jali).
Later on back to the hotel and enjoy the rest of the day as leisure.
You can indulge in shopping from the adjacent places since the plan is to stay overnight there you get plenty of time.

Day 2Ahmedabad to Dwarka via Jamnagar (Drive : 450 Kms - 7/8 Hrs)

Post breakfast, complete the check out formalities and drive towards Dwarka via Jamnagar.
En route, visit Jamnagar’s Lakhota Lake and Lakhota Palace, offering insights into local history and architecture.
Must visit the famous Bala Hanuman Temple where you can experience the non-stop ram dhun which has been going on since 1956 and hence the temple earned a place in the Guinness book of world records as well.
Continue to drive to Dwarka, upon arrival in the hotel complete the check in formalities.
Visit to the majestic Dwarkadhish Temple, dedicated to Lord Krishna.
Experience the evening Aarti, a soulful ritual accompanied by the melodious chants and the glow of oil lamps.
Later on, back to the hotel and have your dinner at the hotel and retire for the day.

Day 3 Dwarka Exploration — The Gateway to Heaven

Start the day a little bit early to witness the divine Mangla Aarti at Dwarkadhish Temple, a serene experience as the temple echoes with prayers and hymns at the break of dawn.

Thereafter, head back to the hotel. Upon Arrival, you will be served with a delicious morning meal.
Furthermore, you will be taken out for a scenic boat ride to Bet Dwarka, the legendary kingdom of Lord Krishna. Explore the Bet Dwarka Temple, which houses ancient artefacts and offers panoramic views of the Arabian Sea.
Later on, visit the revered Nageshwar Jyotirlinga Temple, one of the 12s prominent Jyotirlinga dedicated to Lord Shiva, known for its architectural splendour and spiritual significance.
Continue your spiritual journey with a visit to the beautifully crafted Rukmini Devi Temple, dedicated to Lord Krishna’s consort Rukmini.
Explore Gomti Ghat, where pilgrims traditionally perform rituals, and walk across Sudama Setu, a bridge with mythological significance.
Return back to your hotel for a relaxing evening and overnight stay in Dwarka.

Day 4Dwarka to Somnath via Porbandar (Drive : 230 Kms - 3/4 Hrs)

After a leisurely breakfast, complete the check out formalities from the hotel and proceed towards Somnath via Porbandar, a scenic drive of approximately 5-6 hours along Gujarat’s coastal belt.
Enroute to Porbandar, you will visit the birthplace of Gandhi Ji, that is, Kirti Mandir and also visit the only Sudama Temple in the world.
Later that day, proceed towards Somnath. Upon arrival in Somnath, complete the check-in formalities in the hotel and unwind amidst the tranquil surroundings.
Must visit the legendary Somnath Temple, one of the 12 revered Jyotirlinga shrines of Lord Shiva, overlooking the vast expanse of the Arabian Sea. Witness the mesmerising evening Aarti, a spiritual spectacle amidst the backdrop of the setting sun.
Explore nearby attractions such as Bhalka Tirth, where Lord Krishna is believed to have taken his last earthly breath, and Triveni Sangam, the holy confluence of three rivers.
Spend tranquil moments at Somnath Beach, reflecting on the spiritual significance of your journey.
Back to the hotel, have your night meal and retire for the day.

Day 5:Somnath to Diu (Drive : 90 Kms - 2/3 Hrs)

Post breakfast, leave Somnath and head towards Diu, a journey of approximately 90 kms and taking around 2 – 3 hours.
On arrival at Diu, complete the check in formalities in the hotel.
Explore the historic Diu Fort, built by the Portuguese in the 16th century. Enjoy panoramic views of the Arabian Sea from the fort’s walls.
Visit St. Paul’s Church, this beautiful church known for its baroque architecture and intricate wood carvings.
Later on, visit the natural beauty of Naida Caves with their intricate rock formations and sunlit chambers.
Relax at Nagoa Beach, famous for its horseshoe shape and clean, serene waters. Enjoy activities like swimming, jet skiing, and parasailing.
Must visit the INS Khukri Memorial, dedicated to the Indian Navy ship INS Khukri, sunk during the Indo-Pak war of 1971.
Enjoy a spectacular sunset at Sunset Point, offering stunning views of the coastline.
After a day of sightseeing, return to your hotel and have dinner.
Overnight stay in the hotel in Diu.

Day 6Diu to Sasan Gir (Drive : 60 Kms - 1/2 Hrs)

Post breakfast, leave Diu and head towards Sasan Gir, home of the majestic Asiatic lions, it takes approximately 60 km and takes around 1 – 2 hours.
Enroute must visit Gangeshwar Mahadev Temple, this temple known for its five shivlings located amidst rocks on the seashore, washed by tidal waves.

If time permits, explore this unique Shell Museum housing a collection of seashells from around the world.
Continue to drive towards Sasan Gir. Upon arrival at the hotel, complete the check in formalities.
After lunch, continue to safari in Gir National Park, explore the wilderness to spot Asiatic lions, leopards, and diverse wildlife in their natural habitat.
Later on, back to the hotel and spend the rest of the day as leisure.

Day 7Sasan Gir to Ahmedabad (Drive : 370 Kms - 7/8 Hrs)

After having a healthy breakfast and completing the check out formalities from the hotel.
Drive towards Ahmedabad, it takes approximately 370 kms and takes around 7 – 8 hours.
En route, visit Adalaj Stepwell, an architectural marvel showcasing Indo-Islamic design and craftsmanship.
If time permits, visit Akshardham temple to experience some beautiful monumental designs engraved with innumerable historic stories and watch the light and sound show there.
Upon arrival at the hotel, complete the check in formalities and spend the day as leisure.
Have your night meal and retire for the day.

Day 8 Ahmedabad Departure — Time to say Goodbye

After having breakfast, pack your bags and complete the check out formalities from the hotel.
If time permits, visit Modhera Sun Temple, a stunning example of ancient Indian architecture dedicated to the sun god Surya.
Proceed to Patan and visit Rani ki Vav, an intricately designed stepwell recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Explore Patola Silk Weaving centres, known for their exquisite Patola sarees.
After the sightseeing, begin your return journey to Ahmedabad Airport or Railway Station.
