Sikkim’s Silk Route Circuit: Exploring Tourism Potential. The Silk Road, also called the Silk Route, was an ancient trade path connecting the East and West. It allowed goods, ideas, and cultures to travel, making it an exciting journey through history.

The Silk Road wasn’t a single road; it was more like a big network of paths. These paths went through all kinds of places, like deserts, mountains, and even across seas. They connected lots of different people and places together.

On the 1st day Your adventure starts with your arrival at NJP Railway Station or Bagdogra Airport. After checking into your hotel in scenic Sillery Gaon, get ready for some amazing sights.

Ramitey View Point offers breathtaking views of the Himalayas and the Teesta River. Tinchuley View Point treats you to stunning mountain and tea garden vistas.

On the 2nd day Start your day with a delightful breakfast and check out from your hotel in Sillery Gaon. Travel to Aritar and check in upon arrival. Visit Lampokhari Lake, one of Sikkim’s oldest lakes, and enjoy optional boating.

Explore the historic Dak Bungalow of Aritar, a relic of British colonial times.You can  discover the ancient Aritar Gumpa, one of Sikkim’s oldest monasteries. Return to your hotel in Aritar for an overnight stay.

On the 3rd day After breakfast, check out from your Aritar hotel and get the necessary permits for your journey to Zuluk  with your driver’s help.

This might take about an hour. Then, head to Zuluk, a small town known for its breathtaking views  near the Indo-China Border. Check in to your hotel, relax, and enjoy the evening at leisure. Have dinner and stay overnight in Zuluk.

On the day 4th After breakfast, check out from your Zuluk hotel and head to Nathang Valley. Stop in Rongli for permits. Enjoy the views from Thambi and Lungthung Viewpoints along the way. 

In Nathang Valley, visit the Tukla Valley war memorial, Kupup Lake, and the highest Yak Golf Course, each offering unique experiences. Don’t forget to explore the historic Jelep La mountain pass with its stunning views and ancient stories.

Return to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay, immersing yourself in the beauty and history of Nathang Valley.

On day 5th enjoy a hearty breakfast and check out from your Reshikhola hotel. Capture picturesque moments at the Coronation Bridge along the way.

Itinerary

Day 1NJP Railway Station / Bagdogra Airport (IXB) to Sillery Gaon — A charming Himalayan village

  • Upon your Arrival in Siliguri, meet our representative at  NJP Railway Station / Bagdogra Airport (IXB) and get transferred to your pre-booked hotel in Sillery Gaon. 
  • Upon reaching Sillery Gaon, complete the check in formalities to the hotel
  • Visit the Ramitay view point, Tinchuley view point, Silent Valley and the Damsang Fort ruins. All these places can be hiked/trekked and no vehicle is required/available to visit these places. 
  • Ramitey view point offers the longest view of River Teesta with approximately 14 bends. Thereafter you can also trek to Damsang Fort as well as the Silent valley. 
  • Rest of the day at leisure at Sillery Gaon. 
  • Have your meal and enjoy an overnight stay in Sillery Gaon.

Day 2 Sillery Gaon to Zuluk via Aritar

  • Wake up to a beautiful morning in the mountains and have a delicious breakfast at the hotel and complete the check out formalities.
  • Post Check Out, get ready and board your transfer to Zuluk. 
  • Visit the Lampokhari lake and enjoy paddle boating in the placid waters of the lake (Optional and own cost) and do a Parikrama of this Holy Lake. 
  • Thereafter, stop at Rongli for a restricted area permit, our driver will collect all the Photo ID proof of all the Tourists and will take 1 hour for a Permit for Silk Route Trip way ahead. 
  • On the way see the Kuekhola Falls, pass through Lingtam, Padamchen to reach Zuluk.
  • If you so wish, you can visit the Shivalaya Baba Mandir (No vehicle required). 
  • Enjoy the sunset at Zuluk from Balasore sunset point (Walkable distance, No vehicle required).
  • Have your meal and enjoy an overnight stay in Zuluk.

Day 3Full Day Sightseeing of Zuluk

  • Kick-off your day at around 3:30 – 4:00 a.m and leave for sunrise from the Ganek View point / Lungthung. 
  • Enjoy the morning glory of the Kanchendzonga change from golden to silver and thereafter enjoy the view of the sunrise over the Bhutan hills, a unique view, comparable to the best Sunrise anywhere in India.
  • Back to the hotel for breakfast and proceed to visit the beauty of Thambi View point, Laxmi Chowk, Tukla Kalapokhri, Tukla Baba Mandir, Tukla valley, Jelepla Pass View Point and reach Kupup. 
  • Don’t miss Hathi Pokhari Lake. At Kupup, see the World’s highest Golf course, the Yak Golf Course at 13025 ft (Guinness Book of World Records acclaimed), the Ice Hockey ground and the young Husband’s Track. 
  • Thereafter move on to Gnathang. Gnathang or Gnathang Valley is popularly called the “The Ladakh of East India”. 
  • Return back to the zuluk hotel and rest of the day is at leisure.
  • Have your meal and enjoy an overnight stay in Zuluk.

Day 4Zuluk to Reshikola — Spend some time by the Reshi river

  • Start your day by waking up  around the mountains and having a hearty breakfast. 
  • Post Breakfast, complete the check out formalities and drive to Reshikhola, a scenic riverside town.
  • Upon arrival at Reshikhola, complete the check-in formalities to your hotel or camp and spend the rest of the day at leisure. 
  • You can go birdwatching and spot various bird species like Himalayan Bulbul, White Capped Water RedStart and Green Magpie. 
  • You can also go rock climbing. 
  • Later on, have your meal and retire for the day.

 

Day 5Reshikhola to NJP Railway Station / Bagdogra Airport (IXB) — Depart with a bag of memories

  • After having a hearty breakfast, check out from the hotel and then board your vehicle to reach NJP Railway Station / Bagdogra Airport (IXB).
  • You can also take a small halt at the Coronation bridge for photography while on the way to Siliguri.
  • Your tour concludes once you are dropped at the Airport / Railway Station for your onward journey.
  • It’s now time to head back home with a plethora of good memories..
