Day 1 Ho Chi Minh City Arrival & Half City Tour

  • Arrive in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), a vibrant and dynamic metropolis.
  • Start the city tour with a visit to:

  • Explore colonial-era landmarks:

Day 2Ho Chi Minh City – My Tho/ Mekong Full-Day Tour - Vinh Trang Pagoda

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
  • After breakfast, depart from Ho Chi Minh City and travel through scenic country roads to My Tho Town in the Mekong Delta, Vietnam’s “rice bowl.”
  • Visit the Vinh Trang Pagoda, famous for its intricate mosaics made from broken pottery.
  • Enjoy a boat ride along the Mekong River, passing by fishing villages.
  • Stop at Thoi Son Island to experience:
    • Seasonal fruits
    • Honey tea

  • After breakfast, your private tour guide will pick you up from your hotel in Ho Chi Minh City (District 1, 3, or 5) for a trip to the Cu Chi Tunnels.
  • On the way, enjoy a scenic drive towards the Cambodian border.
  • Upon arrival, receive an overview of the Cu Chi Tunnels and their significance in Vietnam’s war history.
  • Explore a section of the extensive 125-mile (200 km) underground network, including trap doors, storage facilities, weapons factories, and kitchens.
  • Watch a short documentary about the tunnels and the war.
  • Sample local foods such as rice tapioca and hot tea, the main diet during wartime.

Day 6 Da Nang – Flight to Hanoi – Half-Day City Tour

  • Upon arrival in Hanoi, you will be picked up at the airport and transferred to your hotel for check-in (check-in at 14:00 PM).
  • Begin your city tour with a visit to Tran Quoc Pagoda, the oldest pagoda in Hanoi, located on the serene West Lake.
  • Visit the Ho Chi Minh Complex, where you can see the embalmed body of Ho Chi Minh and explore the garden, visiting the two houses where he lived and worked from 1954 to 1969.
    • Continue to the One Pillar Pagoda, dedicated to the Goddess of Mercy, known for its unique structure.
    • Dress modestly, covering shoulders to knees, when visiting the mausoleum, temples, and pagodas.
  • Note: Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum is closed on Mondays and Fridays and for annual maintenance (15th June – 15th August), but photos can still be taken outside.
  • Next, visit the Temple of Literature, Vietnam’s first university, established in 1076. It served as a centre of education for royalty, mandarins, and elites for 700 years. Explore its beautiful gardens and historic architecture.
  • End the day with a traditional Water Puppet Show, a unique northern Vietnamese art form portraying scenes of rural life and historical events.
  • Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 7 Ninh Binh – Dinh & Le Temples – Trang An Caves

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
  • Start the day with a 2-hour scenic drive to Ninh Binh, a region known for its stunning landscapes.
  • Begin by visiting the Hoa Lu Ancient Capital, which served as the capital of Vietnam during the Dinh and Le dynasties in the 10th century. The small kingdom, enclosed by a citadel, offers a glimpse into Vietnam’s historical past.
  • Explore two significant temples:
    • The temple is dedicated to Emperor Dinh Tien Hoang of the Dinh Dynasty (968-980).
    • The temple is dedicated to Emperor Le Dai Hanh of the Le Dynasty (980-1009), both located in the ancient royal capital of Hoa Lu.
  • Continue to the Trang An Landscape Complex, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Enjoy a relaxing boat ride on the serene river as you pass through a series of stunning limestone karst caves.
    • The landscape features towering limestone karst peaks, lush valleys, and tranquil waterways.
    • Known as “Halong on Land”, the peaceful atmosphere is only interrupted by the sounds of nature, offering a tranquil experience.
  • Return to Hanoi.
  • Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 8 Ha Noi – Ha Long Bay on Cruise

  • Meals: Full Board (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
  • After breakfast and check-out, embark on a scenic drive through rice paddy fields to HaLong Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in northern Vietnam. The journey to Tuan Chau Harbor via the new highway will take approximately 2.5 hours.
  • Upon arrival, board a traditional junk boat for a mesmerising cruise through Ha Long Bay, which is dotted with over 1,600 limestone islands and islets.
  • Enjoy a delicious lunch on board while cruising through the stunning bay. In the afternoon, the boat will anchor for various activities, such as visiting caves, kayaking, or relaxing on the beach (activities subject to weather conditions).
  • Visit one of the impressive caves, often referred to as the “pearl of Ha Long Bay.” After a short climb of around 100 steps, you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking views of the stalagmites and the lush greenery at the entrance, known as the “gate of heaven.”
  • Kayaking is also an option in Ha Long Bay, one of the world’s top 25 kayaking destinations, as voted by National Geographic Adventures. It offers a unique perspective of the bay’s natural beauty, allowing you to explore it up close.
  • Overnight on board the cruise in HaLong Bay.

Day 9 Ha Long Bay – Ha Noi
